FAQ's
- How do I join Empire City Soccer Academy?
- We hold tryouts once a year for our U10-19 boys and girls teams. Check our Tryouts page for the latest information. Tryouts will be in June for the next November - June season. There are no tryouts for the Junior Academy (5-12 year olds) program. When registration opens for these programs you simply register online.
- How much does Empire City cost?
- Check out our player fees here for our U10-U19 program. We do have a small amount of scholarship money available. Our Junior Academy programming has individual fees which vary based on the program.
- How long is the Empire City season?
- Generally speaking, our U10-U19 boys and girls programs run from November to the end of June for a total of 8 months. We are indoors from November until the end of March and then are outside from the beginning of April until the end of June. We are looking for the committed 8 month player but do have some players who only play winter or only play spring. This will cost more per season then if you play all 8 months. Our Junior Academy programs typically last 6 weeks and we have two sessions.
- Can I play other sports while playing Empire City?
- Yes, many of our players play other school sports during the winter or spring. Our training sessions occur at night so many players come after their school sport is over. Tournaments occur on the weekend which does not conflict with many school sports. We realize you may have to miss occasional training and games but just ask you let us know in advance and attend everything you can.
- Where are training sessions held?
- During the winter we train at the Afrim's Dome in Queensbury. During the spring we train at various grass fields throughout the area.
- Where are the tournaments held for the U10-U19 teams?
- This varies greatly between each age group. At the beginning of spring we put a poll out to players and parents to see what tournaments they are interested in. Some tournaments are in the Capital District while others are not. The ones that are not are within the Northeast. It is best to talk to the age appropriate coach to see what tournaments they will be participating in.
